Why did Itachi get out of Edo Tensei's control?

In addition to having the power of the Sharingan eye of the Uchiha clan, Itachi is famous for his ingenuity in strategizing. It is told in the Naruto anime that Itachi died from exhaustion and had a fatal illness after a long battle against his own brother, Sasuke.

But during the fourth ninja world war, Itachi was resurrected by Kabuto's edo tensei technique. Please note that the edo tensei jutsu is a forbidden jutsu that is able to resurrect the dead with the same strength and skill when the person was still alive and the edo tensei jutsu user can control the undead as they wish.

How Itachi releases edo tensei tense

But when resurrected by Kabuto's edo tensei, Itachi was able to escape from the edo tensei's control. This happened because before Itachi was killed against Sasuke, he had left a crow with the ability of his eyes.

So that when Itachi was resurrected using edo tensei, Itachi immediately released the genjutsu from the crow's eyes towards himself. Or you could say Itachi trapped himself into his genjutsu through the crow so that he could control his body and escape the edo tensei.

Genjutsu is an illusion technique which can trap the enemy into the illusion world and control the entire illusion world. Genjutsu skills are generally owned by the owner of the sharingan eye. This technique is used by Itachi to get out of Edo Tensei's control. Pretty clever isn't Itachi's strategy?
