BIN is incessantly holding mass rapid tests in Indonesia

In order to prevent the spread of the corona virus (Covid-19), the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) once again held a rapid and mass swab test in the area that included the red zone of the spread of Covid-19. BIN today, Saturday (05/30/2020) held a rapid and swab test in the CBD Ciledug Business District, Jalan HOS Cokroaminoto, Karang Tengah, Kota Tangerang, Saturday.

KaBIN Special Staff Major General TNI (Ret.) Neno Hamriono through a written statement received in Jakarta said that BIN carried out these activities in collaboration with the City Government of Tangerang.

In addition to providing rapid test kits, BIN also carries a laboratory car for swab tests if there are reactive results from rapid results.
In addition to providing rapid test kits, BIN also carries a laboratory car for swab tests if there are reactive results from rapid results.

The mass rapid test activity, said Neno, was a directive from the Head of BIN General Pol (Ret.) Budi Gunawan to assist the government in accelerating the handling of Covid-19.

"Why did we choose this place as a place for rapid tests? Because of a request from Tangerang City Government. In addition, this area is also a red zone or epicenter (the spread of Covid-19)," he said.

Neno stated that in the activity they provided 700 rapid test kits with an inspection process that lasted from morning until the kit was finished.

"We will serve as many people as possible, but we will have 500 targets. However, if more than 500 people arrive, we will continue to serve until all those who come are thoroughly tested, and swab tests, of course, if there are reactive from rapid tests, "he said.

According to him, the activity was also a proactive effort from BIN to comb the epicenter area in accordance with government programs, through massive tests, then aggressive tracking and strict isolation.

"According to this reactive procedure we will do a swab test and then we will carry out a PCR. The advantage we will do is get about five to six hours and the results will come out," Neno added.

If the results of the test are reactive above ten percent per day there is a possibility of extending, he continued, but if the results below ten percent do not extend anymore.

Neno said that swab tests by laboratory cars were also more effective and faster than going to the hospital.

"In our swab test there are two cars. One vehicle has two capabilities, it is 76 samples. So we can have a maximum swab test that can reach 200 to 300 samples at one time for 5 hours. So the results today can also be known," said Neno .

Meanwhile, Deputy Mayor of Tangerang Sachrudin who attended accompanied the activities to appreciate the steps of BIN who had held the mass rapid test.

"I am grateful to BIN who have conducted rapid tests and even conducted swab tests and PCR if there are reactive ones. At present, Tangerang City Government is conducting PSBB evaluations with the governor in preparation for the new normal implementation," he said.

BIN is indeed in the midst of holding mass rapid tests and providing medical equipment to a number of hospitals. The points that have been held mass rapid tests include in Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok, and Surabaya.
