Its name can mean "Reincarnation to a Dirty World"
For some people, dying is a way out of the world which for them may not be pleasant. That approach was used in giving the name Edo Tensei which could mean "reincarnation into a dirty world". The connotation is they, souls who are dead and calm must rise again to the world. In addition there is a reason why the meaning of his name is related to the second point.
Can only take souls from the holy land
In the Naruto world, the afterlife there is a holy land or in Japanese called jodo. Here the dead souls of the human world are.
Edo Tensei's style can only take souls from this holy land, the rest can't. The location besides the holy land is Shiki Fujin's stomach. The souls trapped in Fujiki's Shiki did not completely move to the afterlife and had a special place in the belly of the God of Death, because it awakened them to need a special method like the four Hokage.

Kabuto's version is more refined because he makes his Edo Tensei's almost as strong as when the object is alive. While what is truly perfect is probably Edo Tensei's fourth Hokage for using White Zetsu from Hashirama cells.
Including Kinjutsu for playing with lives
Tobirama is the person who created and declared that this technique is a Kinjutsu or forbidden style. There are three reasons, the first requires DNA from people who have died, this can clearly include theft of the body. Second, because this technique requires the sacrifice of life in exchange for a dead soul to rise again.
The third is clear because this technique plays with one's life and soul. Living people are sacrificed for people who have died to rise again to the world.
It belongs to the Kuchiyose category because it "calls" its object
Aside from the definite Kinjutsu, Edo Tensei includes Kuchiyose's style or summons. Hashirama can be free from Edo Tensei's ties even though his version of Edo Tensei is so strong that even the creator, Tobirama, cannot escape. According to Orochimaru, Hashirama was so strong he could be released from his ties at will. Meanwhile Itachi uses Genjutsu from the eyes of the Mangekyou Sharingan Shisui to make Kabuto untie Edo Tensei from himself.
And Kato is not included in this list because he (or his soul) can only move freely after Kabuto cancels his jutsu. Before that he was still in the control of Edo Tensei.
Canceling the jutsu is only three ways
Although the three names above can be separated from Edo Tensei, the jutsu has not been canceled. While there are only three ways to cancel Edo Tensei. The first is that the souls that are raised up reach a point of calm that allows them to return their souls (calmly of course) back to the holy land. Sasori is the one who got this method.
Although every soul can be made calm, but those who are fully controlled by Edo Tensei's users cannot use the first method, therefore the second method which is sealing it with seal paper can also return his soul to its original place. The third method is the most powerful and invalidates all Edo Tensei that is created, with the user's own awareness using Edo Tensei's hand seal to cancel it. Itachi used Izanami to include Kabuto in Genjutsu and made him release this technique.
