Ring of Fire Phenomenon A ring of fire phenomenon will be seen in the skies of several countries on June 10, 2021. This ring solar eclipse phenomenon known as the "ring of fire" will pass over Russia, Greenland, and northern Canada. Weather permitting, those in Northern Asia, Europe, and the United States will see a partial eclipse. Ring of Fire Phenomenon

A ring of fire phenomenon will be seen in the skies of several countries on June 10, 2021. This ring solar eclipse phenomenon known as the "ring of fire" will pass over Russia, Greenland, and northern Canada.

Weather permitting, those in Northern Asia, Europe, and the United States will see a partial eclipse. On that day, the sky will be dark due to a solar eclipse and the sun will appear like a ring of fire burning around the ring.

How does the ring of fire solar eclipse occur?

A solar eclipse occurs when the sun's light is blocked by the moon, so that not all of the light reaches Earth. When this happens, the moon is closest to the earth.

This event, which is one result of the dynamic movement of the positions of the Sun, Earth and Moon, only occurs during the new moon phase and can be predicted in advance.

It is explained that an annular solar eclipse occurs when the tip of the moon's umbra shadow does not reach the earth's surface. Consequently, there will be an additional umbral shadow (called the antumbra) that hits the Earth's surface.

At the location affected by the antumbra, when the peak of the eclipse occurs, the Sun will look like a ring. This situation occurs when the center of the Sun's disc is covered by the Moon's disc, while at the edges it is not covered.

As for the location affected by the penumbra, the observed eclipse is in the form of a partial annular solar eclipse. At the peak of the eclipse, the visible disk of the sun is not intact because in certain parts its edges are covered by the disk of the moon.

Don't stare at the Ring of Fire with the naked eye

It should be noted that when the Ring of Fire occurs, it is forbidden to see the solar eclipse with the naked eye or a telescope because it can cause blindness. Scientists use special filters or filters to be safe when looking at the sun during an annular eclipse.
